Monday Motivation – July 25th
Another Monday is here… time for some Monday Motivation! Honestly, I had an okay weekend, but my stomach issues really started to bother me. And that’s never fun. Then on top of that, it took forever to fall asleep last night, and I woke up so many times during the night. But, I’m working on eliminating the excuses. When that alarm went off this morning, I could have easily shut it off and gone back to sleep. Instead, I got up and started my day.
Mondays start with walking the dogs because the gym doesn’t open until 3:30/4 am. I think the pups had a rough weekend too, because when I first got up, they both looked at me like, “What are you doing?” Typically if I ask if they want to go potty, they jump up. But not today! So I went ahead and got dressed and got ready. Finally, they started stirring around! In the process of getting the leashes, the smoke detector started chirping. And that’s never a good thing, because my Harley girl has some sort of past trauma that makes her terrified of the chirp. So I tried my best to get her out the door as quickly as I could.
After that, it was gym time. Monday is typically chest day– so I do some flat bench press, incline bench press, flies, etc. I also added in some punching bag work at the end, because it’s fun, gets the heart rate up, and is a great stress reliever!
And YES! I got my pull-ups in! I actually did those first thing. Today is technically day 3 (Thursday, Friday, then today). Still using 25 pounds of assistance. I’ll probably stick to that all this week, then use less next week!
Just a friendly reminder… never miss a Monday! It can be really hard, but it’s worth it! Get up, move your body and make it a great week!
