Watermelon Adventures With Fenway’s New Pup, Zoe!
As a new dog Dad, I’m also learning new things every day about my adorable retriever mix, Zoe. Side note, I’ve never been a person who brags but my dog is so freakin’ adorable! Anyway, while I love giving her all the treats her little heart desires I also know it’s not good for her health to load her up with nothing but dog treats. However if it were up to our elderly neighbor, breakfast, lunch, and dinner would be bacon-strip treats and Zoe would way 150 lbs at only seven months old. I love giving Zoe baby carrots. Their super low calorie, high in fiber and even help clean her teeth because of the crunch. We stick baby carrots in a dog treat toy and it keeps her busy for at least a solid hour. My wife has to do this when she has to lead meetings or is in one with her boss. This past weekend we decided to treat Zoe to another fun treat; watermelon! Watermelon in moderation is also high in fiber and a thirst quencher for a pooch. Make sure you pop those seeds out if it isn’t seedless. Given that it was the 4th of July I decided to see how Zoe would react to eating a small wedge. WARNING: It’s adorable.
See? Adorable! You can find a list of healthy dog snacks here!
