Ed Sheeran has been crashing weddings and surprising fans at their houses. He has an album coming out on the 29th called “Autumn Variations.” I don’t think I’ve ever seen any artist do what he’s doing right now. He’s randomly showing up at public places and private ceremonies and giving fans an experience of a lifetime. I noticed that he started this when he started his tour. Whatever city he was playing in, the day of the show or the day before the show he would do something that gave back to the community. In Tampa, he surprised a high school band with tickets to his show that night, guitars for the music department, and then he performed his single Eyes Closed. That was just the beginning.
Shortly after his Tampa show, he went to Atlanta. As soon as he arrived, Ed and his crew headed to the Sweetwater Brewing Company and not only surprised everyone with a small acoustic set but also served and bought drinks for the entire brewery. That’s when I realized that this is going to be something he does in every city he’s playing in. His tour is coming to an end and he’s on the west coast right now. Even though he had to reschedule his Las Vegas show because of equipment issues, that didn’t stop him from dropping in on a couple getting married at the Little White Wedding Chapel. He sings Magical from his upcoming seventh studio album. Imagine standing up at the altar with the person you love more than anything. As you’re about to say “I do,” Ed Sheeran walks in with a guitar.
The happy couple’s reaction was genuine and I think the groom was a little more in disbelief than his bride. I love that Ed Sheeran has been crashing weddings and surprising fans at their houses. He’s actually recording his new album while singing in their living rooms.
