My favorite outdoor dining spots in the Augusta area don't just stop at one restaurant.

From mid-June to about late September, eating outside in the Augusta area is hardly ever a personal choice.  Every now and then you'll catch a cool down while a pop-up storm is rolling through, or a weird couple of nights like this year when there's been little to no humidity.  In those circumstances, it's bearable to eat outside.  Every time we've eaten outside at a restaurant in the summer months, I'm basically continuously adding salt to my Margarita from the sweat rolling off of my brow and into my beverage.  It's always quite tasty.  Now that we're getting into late August and school has started back, the whispers of fall have begun.  This makes me very excited to visit some of my favorite outdoor dining spots.

When making this list, I only considered dining.  I didn't consider watching sports or grabbing a drink.  It's almost football season and I would basically do that at any bar anywhere no matter what the outside looked like.  It's football, it's fall, beer me, please.

This is just a quick handful of my favorite spots to grab good food with some great outside atmosphere in the Augusta area.  My favorite sushi restaurant that's in Surrey Center didn't make the list, unfortunately.  Tako Sushi in Surrey Center created an amazing patio area that covered two front parking spots during COVID.  Due to city regulations, they had to recently remove it.  Again, great sushi!  Just not much of an outside dining area.

Fall will be here very soon and the nights will be cooler.  A quick list of my favorite outdoor dining spots in the Augusta area is below.  They're all family-friendly local or regional restaurants in different areas of the community.

World Of Beer

I've enjoyed many Sunday brunches and the occasional day-off day brew on this patio.  It's right on Washington Rd. And during Master's Week, you can enjoy your favorite beverage while watching patrons leave the course in the afternoon.

Sole'

Sole' on Broad Street in downtown Augusta has, in my opinion, the best outside seating because most of it's covered.  Even when it's a hot day in the CSRA there's air flows through their outdoor dining area making their food and beverages that much more enjoyable.  When it's cold, they turn the fires on in the center of each table.  Eating outside is always an option at Sole'.

Doc's Porchside

Another fun outside patio on Washington Rd. is at Doc's Porchside.  This is probably one of the largest outdoor seating areas and is especially fun in the fall during football season.  With all of their outdoor TVs, they can accommodate any fanbase.

Oliviana Italiano Ristorante

Oliviana's in Surrey Center is another restaurant with fully covered outdoor seating.  It's off of Berkman's Rd. and less than a mile from Augusta National.  It rests in an area of other great restaurants and boutiques.  What I like about their outdoor dining is the bistro lighting.  It'll definitely make you feel warm and invited to dine.

Hammond's Ferry Larder

I've only eaten outside of Larder once, but that little area might be the cutest in the entire Augusta area.  It's technically over the river in North Augusta, South Carolina.
