Some of the fun in radio are the contests that we get to do on-air or online. If you’ve ever heard of a “Phrase That Pays” contest, it’s literally a contest that gives away cash if you hear a specific phrase on the radio. If you’re the correct caller when you call in you win however much money is being given away. That specific contest doesn’t happen as much anymore as it use to, but it is still out there somewhere. And if you’re this popular Scottish YouTuber and you call in to repeat the phrase, “Purple Burgler Alarm” well, you might end up taking the L.
