This comes after Governor Brian Kemp extended the gas tax suspension last Friday, October 6. The 2023 Motor Fuel Suspension originally began on September 13, 2023.
A Gas tax suspension is when an executive order is released that suspends the collection of motor fuel taxes for a certain amount of time. This has gas at about 30 cents cheaper, for now, this will last through November 11.
If you are in Georgia or right over the bridge in South Carolina, this may be a good time to stop by the gas stations.
According to AAA, the regular cost of gas on average in Georgia is $3.14. Many cities are averaging much less that $3 per gallon right now.
The Savannah metro area had the highest average cost in the state at $3.23. The Albany metro area had the lowest average at $2.95.
