Wet Nose Wednesday: Meet Barbie
Meet Today’s Wet Nose Wednesday Pup: Barbie!
Get To Know Me:
Hi, I’m Barbie! I’m a soon to be one year old miniature poodle and I weigh around 18 pounds. I came into rescue so shut down and a completely matted mess. I was one of those breeder pups that never sold so I sat there waiting, alone and scared. They had to shave me down just so I could move around freely again. You can imagine the discomfort I was in for so long… luckily I had my older sister to keep me company when the days seemed never ending.
My Perfect Fur-Ever Home:
Now it’s time for me to find my forever home and a family who will give me time to spread my wings. The first year of a puppies life is so crucial, where I learn all about behavior, training, and communication. I’m pretty shy and timid so it takes time for me to adjust. Having another dog around would be wonderful for me, just so I can learn social cues and that it’s ok to enjoy the good life. I don’t mind cats at all. Only thing I care about is giving a few little sniffs and I’ll be on my way. A home with kids that are older might be best for me at this stage of my life. I still get very shaken by loud noises or to much fast movement. Down the road my foster dads believe I will adjust fine but for now they both agree I need more confidence.
I’m working on house training and learn that when my foster siblings go outside for potty breaks, that’s my time to go too. Having a fenced in yard is a must. I’m a pretty quick learner with some yummy treats and I love hearing what a good girl I am. I need a family who will allow me just to be myself… of course, snuggling on the couch or the bed and most importantly, arms that will just hold me.
My foster dad said I’m going to be a very tough one to say goodbye too… so my forever family has to love me as much as he does already. He says I deserve everything my little heart desires and it’s time for me to see that not all people are bad. This is why it’s so important to do your research before buying a breeder pup… you never know of the ones being left behind.
