Volunteer favorite Sookie is a mixed breed who is 3 years old, 42 pounds and super sweet. She has a gorgeous brindle coat with white markings. This gentle girl loves going on walks and playing with other dogs.
She arrived at the shelter so skinny, her rib cage showed and her hip bones protruded. Sookie was scared to death at first, but then adjusted to her surroundings and turned into one of the best dogs available at the County Shelter. She loves to give paw to visitors at the shelter.
She did have a chance to get out of the shelter for a few hours for a "doggie date," which she thoroughly enjoyed. She got a bath and enjoyed a nice, long nap.

All adoptable pets at the Aiken County Animal Shelter are vaccinated, microchipped & fixed.
The Aiken County Animal Shelter is located at 333 Wire Road in Aiken. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The shelter is closed on Sunday.
