Sweet, easygoing Anya is still looking for a forever home. No pet has been waiting to be adopted from the County Shelter longer than this sweet mama dog.
Anya is 3-1/2 years old, 45 pounds and was found as a stray. She was likely dumped after she had puppies. This pretty girl is so sweet, calm and gentle! She will make an outstanding canine companion for the lucky person or family that adopts her. Anya gets along well with other dogs and is a playgroup MVP. She can be adopted at the County Shelter for just $35.
One volunteer said this about Anya:
“Anya is a shy and reserved girl until she gets to know you. I don’t think she fully trusts anyone yet so really needs her own person to bond with and then I bet she will bond hard. Because she’s shier, she’s not gonna be the go on adventures with you dog, she will be most happy in a predictable life. (at least right now, once she bonds and knows she’s safe that may change) She would be absolutely awesome with an older person or couple or a work from home individual – just because her ideal would be just hanging out next to you/near you. Don’t be put off by a lack of eye contact from her when you first meet her. She really gives the vibe of “no one wants to connect with me, so why put in the effort of connecting with them?” She needs time to know that you will be her person and not leave her. Don’t mistake what I’m saying here as she has no personality. Far from it, she is full of personality, she just needs to make sure you’re worth it. “
All adoptable pets at the Aiken County Animal Shelter are vaccinated, microchipped & fixed.
