Wet Nose Wednesday: Meet Mae
Meet Today’s Wet Nose Wednesday Pup: Mae!
Get To Know Me:
Mae is the longest resident at the Aiken Animal Shelter. Unfortunately, that means her days are numbered, unless someone steps in soon to save her.
Volunteers say she is the most loving dog at the shelter. Please share her story and help save her life.
Four-year-old, 52-pound Mae wiggles her butt excitedly whenever she gets visitors. This sweet thang arrived at the County Shelter as a stray. Her eyes light up and her motherly instincts kick in when she meets children. Unfortunately, Mae is sensitive around other dogs and would do best as an only pet. But she is sooo sweet and affectionate with people, she will make a wonderful, loyal companion.
Mae is described by staff as squishy, loving, and wonderful. She’s basically love on 4 legs. There aren’t words to describe her deep affection for people of all descriptions.
Her past life included being overbred and undernourished, treated as a throwaway. But this girl is a rare gem who deserves a home where she’ll be loved for who she is, not what she can produce.
Mae will cover you in kisses. She knows commands, she’s housetrained, and she’s easy to walk on a leash. She likes some dogs but not others, so the shelter is adopting her as an only-pet in an abundance of caution.
She’s now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm-negative. Her adoption fee is $35.
All adoptable pets at the Aiken County Animal Shelter are vaccinated, microchipped & fixed.
The Aiken County Animal Shelter is located at 333 Wire Road in Aiken. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The shelter is closed on Sunday.
