Wet Nose Wednesday: Meet Casey
Meet Today’s Wet Nose Wednesday Pup: Casey!
Get To Know Me:
Hi, I’m Casey! I am a 13 to 14 year old Chihuahua and I weigh around 14 pounds. Yah, I need to lose some weight for sure but man it’s hard when I’m use to being spoiled with so many treats. My foster mom has been working on a healthy diet and some exercise time. She still calls me her handsome little guy, just look at that side tongue action going on. That just tops me off on the adorable scale!
My DNA family helped network me last year from the shelter after the only owners I have ever known took me to that overwhelming place. I was so traumatized, confused and mentally not in a good head space. They had no open fosters but promised to help me find my forever home… but sadly that didn’t work out the way they thought. I know I’m far from perfect but isn’t that what unconditional love is all about. I can say my DNA family kept their promise, they made sure I had the most amazing foster momma to bring me home.
My Perfect Fur-Ever Home:
I may be old but I still have a lot of life left in me and want to spend it somewhere cozy and full of love. I sleep most of the time but don’t let that fool you, when I get up I’ll be ready for a snack or to go outside. I love wandering around the yard and am very good about going outside. My foster mom says I do have a habit of peeing inside sometimes at night but I always aim for the pee pad! I mean I’m older so it’s hard to hold it all night, I’m sure some of your guys understand that feeling. Having a fenced in yard would be better, I do stick by your side but I’m older so I could wonder off. It’s all about keeping me safe.
You may notice I don’t have very many teeth left so my foster mom always gives me wet food or kibble that’s been softened to not hurt my gums. I’m on a tight schedule and want someone who is willing to work with me on my 7am breakfast and 8pm dinner, I like to know exactly when I’ll be getting my food. It may not surprise you that I am quite the begger, which is probably why I have found myself a little overweight but that doesn’t seem to bother me and I can still get around just fine. Although stairs or big steps might be kind of hard on my little legs. I just want somewhere soft to lay my head and someone who can work with me on a good schedule to keep me on track for the rest of my days. I am sweet as can be and get along with everyone, dogs, cats, and kids! I love watching my foster brothers play in the yard, I can’t keep up but I do cheer them on!
I know it’s harder to find a home the older I get but I do know to the right person I will be your loyal bestie. Let’s just enjoy each day… Could I be your little potato?
