Wet Nose Wednesday: Meet Lokie *Adopted*
Meet Today’s Wet Nose Wednesday Pup: Lokie!
Get To Know Me:
Hi, I’m Lokie! I’m a soon-to-be one year old Chihuahua and I weigh around 5 pounds. Life was extremely tough on me in the beginning, but thanks to your support and my wonderful foster momma, I’m finally on the right track and ready to find my forever home.
I was found back in December at a local Waffle House, stuffed in a crate with large patches of fur missing and completely emaciated. At first they believed I might have Demadex or major skin infections. Once the shelter realized it was so much more they reached out for rescue. Thankfully, I was able to see the veterinarians out at Care More Animal Hospital, where I received a blood panel. They noticed elevated pancreatic enzymes. I needed to be on a bland low fat diet for several weeks to see if that would make a difference. Boy, did it ever! I was feeling so much better and even started acting like an energetic puppy. I will most definitely need to stay on a special diet and have regular checkups to ensure I stay a healthy pup. My hair has completely grown back and everyone says what a handsome little chi chi I am!
My Perfect Fur-Ever Home:
My ideal home would be an active family who can still work with my puppy training needs, and who wants me apart of the family. Like most chihuahuas I wanna be where my favorite two-legged besties are. It’s hard to say what all I have dealt with in my past but my DNA family knows it wasn’t an easy one. I will run in circles if I’m left alone for too long with no one or other dogs around. They believe since I was crated for so long as a puppy I learned to walk in circles from being so stressed out. Maybe someone who works from home, can take me to work or doggie daycare. I’m working on house training but I still need some help in that department, fenced in yard would be pawsome. I get along with other dogs, cats and kids. Older children would be best only because I’m so little and get scared easily with toddlers. I really do enjoy lots of play time and will become a little hoarder of items to keep around my doggie bed. My foster mom calls it my little collection of goodies but hey, at least you know where to find my treasures.
I know it seems like I need a lot of work but I promise I’m really a easy going pup. I’m very affectionate and will cover you in kisses for hours. I love cuddles and laying in your lap while you relax after a long day of work. I have a way of making you feel like you are the only person in my life and I can show you the true meaning of unconditional love. I love sleeping in the bed with you each night, night snuggles are the best. If you have a place in your heart for a pup like me, I promise to be your new best friend.
