Meet Today’s Wet Nose Wednesday Pup: Sawyer!
Get To Know Me:
Sawyer is an extremely sweet 8 lb dachshund that has unfortunately not had the best start. At only 3 1/2 yrs old, he has had to have ALL of his teeth removed. A portion of his coat that is supposed to be bright white , is sadly yellow (but we are working on that). We can’t say for sure, but one would assume it’s from sitting in his own urine.
My Perfect Fur-Ever Home:
Sawyer is still learning what it means to be a part of a family, that he is allowed to trust and just how to be a dog. While he may cower or run if you come at him too quickly, the minute he sees you or the minute a sweet hello is spoken to him, that tail starts swinging. Once he warms up a minute, he literally can’t give you enough kisses or demand enough belly rubs. He is great with other dogs but shows no desire to play at this time. He is terrified of small children so a home with older (or no) kids will be required. We will require a fenced in yard as he’s not super thrilled about the leash yet (again, working on it).
PLEASE do not apply if you aren’t willing to work on his house training and know that you will have to use a belly band until the marking instinct hopefully gets better after neuter.
Adoption Information:
- Adoption fee is $300. This includes:
- Dental (no teeth so never have to worry about future dentals)
- Neuter
- Heartworm test (he’s heartworm negative)
- Rabies
- DHPP
- Up to date on flea and heartworm prevention
- Microchip
- Deworming
- Martingale collar and leash
