Jamie Lynn Spears Making Moves To Control Britney’s Assets
Jamie Lynn Spears has filed to seek more control over her sister Britney’s fortune. According to the Los Angeles Times, Jamie “revealed that she was the trustee of the estate and asked that all the assets of the SJB Revocable Trust be moved into one or more accounts with Fidelity Brokerage Services with her as the custodian.”
They add, “If approved, the move would put Britney Spears’ financial assets into those accounts and require a judge’s approval to remove them.”
Britney established the trust for her children in 2014. Upon her death, Jamie Lynn Spears would administer the family’s assets to the children.
This move is separate from the ongoing battle over Britney’s conservatorship case, which has recently been extended to 2021.
As reported, James Spears has been the sole conservator over Britney’s estate since 2008. Still, she has recently filed documents requested that Jodi Montgomery take over for her father and be named a permanent conservator. As the Los Angeles Times adds, “The singer strongly opposed her father continuing in that capacity by himself and preferred to have a qualified corporate fiduciary appointed to serve in the role instead.”
