Miley Cyrus Plays ‘Doctor’ In New Track With Pharell

Miley Cyrus is playing "doctor" in her new song with her "big bro" Pharrell Williams in a cheeky little track called "Doctor (Work It Out)." The singer-songwriter, 31, has been teasing the new track this week with the musician and producer, 50, posting a snippet from the music video in a joint Instagram post. With its Friday, March 1 release, Cyrus donned the exact, voluminous '70s hairstyle hairstyle she wore to the 2024 Grammys. She earned her [inlink id="miley-cyrus-billy-ray-grammy-speech" text="very first Grammy of her career"] for the 2023 Endless Summer Vacation hit track, "Flowers." The song took home the Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year. https://www.instagram.com/p/C35gxZErR13/ Williams produced the track, and in the teaser clip, Cyrus playfully but robotically dances to the beat as she sings, "Let me work it out, let little mama work it out, oh, ooh, ooh. Wanna work it out." Her dance moves are also similar to her Grammy performance, which is stiff yet concise movements. She then reposted a snippet she had shared earlier this week of her tapping her legs at the beginning of the video and singing, “I could be your doctor, well, I could be your doctor. And I could be your nurse. I think I see the problem, It's only gon' get worse. The medicine she gave you, well, that will never work. I need to rock you baby before your body bursts." The collaboration is their first in a decade since Pharell's 2014 song "Come Get It Bae," from his G I R L album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfGMj10wOzg [inlink id="miley-cyrus-doesnt-want-to-tour" text="RELATED: Miley Cyrus on Why She Doesn’t Want to Tour"] Cyrus’ many arm tattoos were on full display in the music video, as she sported various glamorous outfits, including a sparkly minidress, a silver, sequin cropped top and shorts and a large blue fluffy jacket. The full version of the video features Cyrus singing and dancing against an array of backdrops, as well as close-ups of her mouth as she sings. One fan commented on one of her Instagram posts, "only miley cyrus can take a song recorded a while back and make it sound so.. current? FRESH? AMAZING?" In fact, the song "Doctor" was originally an unreleased song from Miley’s fourth studio album, 2012's Bangerz. The song first appeared online in 2017 as a leak. The track was later revamped in 2023 and played as a soundtrack to Pharrell Williams’ Louis Vuitton menswear fall-winter show during Paris Fashion Week in January 2024.
