Free Scoop Day Is This Weekend At The Meadows Original Frozen Custard and Italian Ice
The Meadows Original Frozen Custard and Italian Ice in Grovetown will be giving out free frozen custard on Saturday, April 20.
Customers will have the opportunity to enjoy one free scoop of vanilla or chocolate custard in a cone or cup, per person, in-store only. You can come out to get your free scoop practically all day from noon – 9 pm.
The Meadows Free Scoop Day is a part of their “re-opening” under their new ownership. The inside of the parlor has also been renovated since.
Free custard won’t be the only thing happening at the Meadows. They will also have character appearances, face painting, and other activities like balloon animals
What is Custard?
Custard is very similar to ice cream, but the ingredients differ. While ice cream is made with milk, cream, and sweetener, frozen custard is made up of those same ingredients but with egg yolks. Without the egg, it would just be ice cream.
This extra ingredient gives custard a richer, thicker, and creamier texture than ice cream.
What else is on the menu at the Meadows?
There is more than just custard at this dessert shop. They have shakes, Italian ice, Gelati, floats, and custard pies!
The special treats don’t just stop there. The Meadows has also released their April Flavors calendar. This calendar showcases the flavor of the day for the entire month. On Free Scoop Day, April 20, their special flavors of the day will be Black Cherry Vanilla and Dirty Turtle.
It’s already a good day when you can get something sweet, but something sweet for free? now that’s more like it!
About The Meadows Original Frozen Custard
The Meadows Original Frozen Custard got its start in the summer of 1950 when J.V. Richard and Delbert Meadows opened a small custard stand in Duncansville, PA. Lines over fifty people deep formed immediately. It was an instant success.
