Ariana Grande has given her fans exactly what they have been craving all these years — an unapologetic track that is also a dance bop. After being preoccupied with filming the first two installments of the Wicked films, Grande, 30, came out with a hit at the start of the year. Four years since her last album, 2020’s Positions, Grande’s lead single from her upcoming unnamed seventh album hit the ground running. Now that the song has been released, Grande previously shared on Instagram about the time she has spent away from music, which ties into the lyrics of “yes, and?”
She said in her Instagram Story before the new year: “I’ve never felt more at the mercy of and in acceptance of what life was screaming to teach me. I have never felt more pride or joy or love while simultaneously feeling so deeply misunderstood by people who don’t know me, who piece whispers together and make what they want out of me and their assumptions of my life.”
