You Can Now Stay Overnight In The Home Of Everyone’s Favorite Ogre
You can now stay overnight in the home of everyone’s favorite ogre. Airbnb is making dreams come true for fans of the beloved DreamWorks franchise, Shrek. Starting October 13th at 6 p.m. local time, you’ll be able to book a once-in-a-lifetime getaway experience to Shrek’s Swamp! This “swampy” destination is located deep within the enchanting Scottish Highlands, providing an extraordinary escape for up to three guests. It’s going to be tough to book, however. It’s only available October 27th-29th.
Enjoy A Relaxing Stay
Shrek’s Swamp is described by Airbnb as a whimsical oasis, with lots of character and charm. Surrounded by lush forests of the Scottish Highlands, it offers a cozy sanctuary away from the stresses of everyday life. Though swampy, the moss-covered surroundings allow you to take in nature’s beauty.
It’s Also What’s On The Inside
During your stay, you’ll bask in the ambiance of “earwax candlelight,” a unique touch that adds to the enchantment of the experience. Ew. You’ll enjoy a delicious parfait, share stories by the fire at night, and in the morning, Donkey’s making waffles! Well, maybe not but he is staying there while Shrek is away this Halloween. Bathroom accommodations will be outside in Shrek’s protected outhouse. Just be on the lookout for any villagers with pitchforks!
Welcomed By A Close Friend
Speaking of Donkey, when you arrive you’ll be welcomed by him and he even gives you some advice. He says, “…I’m absolutely delighted to invite you in for a fairytale stay. Don’t be deterred by the ‘BEWARE’ signs; they’re all part of the whimsical decoration.”
Imagination Comes To Life
Shrek’s Swamp is just one of the entertainment-inspired listings that Airbnb has introduced in recent months. Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse is listed, as well as Ted Lasso’s favorite pub. I love that Airbnb is taking a page from Disney and turning imagination into reality.
You can now stay overnight in the home of everyone’s favorite ogre. I just hope they’re gone before Shrek comes back on the 30th. Yikes!
I can’t wait to see who actually books this. I’m going to be GLUED to TikTok at the end of October.
