Augusta Residents Camped Outside Of Target For A Stanley Cup
Have you heard about the nation’s recent obsession with the Stanley Cups? The newest colors for Valentine’s Day released in Target and it has people lined up like pre-pandemic Black Friday. Even those in Augusta are all in on the hype.
Don’t get this Stanley Cup mixed with the giant silver trophy that is won by a National Hockey League Team each year. That’s the Stanley Cup too yes, but this Stanley Cup is an insulated tumbler that has a huge handle on the side and comes with a plastic straw.
While other stores do sell the cup, Target has been the hotspot for the Tumbler collection as they have recently released Target-exclusive colors.
The recently released Valentine day collection included the colors pink and red – and it seemed like everybody had to have one. Even Augusta residents got in on the Stanley excitement. The picture shown below is the local target in Augusta on Robert C. Daniel Parkway.
People were lined up early morning to get the newest release of the Stanley Cups and they indeed did sell out.
Why are Stanley Cups So Popular?
Stanley Cups have been around, but they grew in popularity through TikTok. In January of last year, many influencers on the app were seen with them, but that’s not it. In November, a woman went viral when her car unfortunately caught on fire, but she showed on TikTok that her Stanley Cup survived the fire, with ice still in the cup!
The video has over 90 million views. The video even made its way to the Stanley president and the company then decided to gift her not only multiple cups but also a brand-new car!
And the hype has been growing ever since. Even during the recent Christmas holiday, many teenagers and children unwrapped their brand-new Stanley Cup.
With the New Year here, Stanley surely seems to be sticking around.
