Local Bakery in Augusta Adds a New Meaning to a Healthy Breakfast

Author Darasha
August 25th 4:36 PM

When you think of a healthy breakfast you might imagine oatmeal, a piece of whole-grain toast, or some fruit. But what about Macarons made to look like your everyday breakfast favorites?

A local bakery in Augusta, Dolce Darlin’, has come up with a new way to put the healthy in breakfast – and that is with Macarons that are made to look like bacon, eggs, and short stacks.

They look like breakfast but taste like desserts!
These are the macaron flavors included:

  • Pancakes (maple)
  • Eggs (lemon and cream)
  • Bacon (red velvet)

Will you be trading in your whole-grain toast for a pancake macaron?

Cat Musgrove is the owner of Dolce Darlin’ Bakery. If you’ve been in Downtown Augusta on Telfair St you might’ve noticed the “PinkHouse.” The house is not only a bakery but also the home to her and her two children.

The menu changes each week! So if you didn’t catch the breakfast macarons this time around, you may be able to get them another week.

Dolce Darlin’ doesn’t just sell cool macarons. They also sell cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and scones.

They even serve take-and-bake meals. These are ready-to-eat meals that you will just need to heat up once you take them home. There’s chicken pot pie, lasagna, and more.

Baking has always been a creative activity, but in the last few years, a popular trend has come about to make cakes and other baked goods look like everyday objects, similar to the macaron breakfast pack.

Bakers have made the final product unique – calling it hyper-realistic cakes. For example, they can make things like toothpaste! It will have you questioning is it toothpaste or cake? So much so that Netflix made a show about it called Is It Cake?

It will be interesting to see what’s next on the menu for Dolce Darlin’.
