South Carolina Woman Commutes To New Jersey For Internship
According to NDTV, a South Carolina woman commutes to New Jersey by plane once a week for her summer internship. The 21-year-old, Sophia Celentano, shared about her commute on her TikTok account. The reason for commuting by plane weekly? She says it’s cheaper than renting in New Jersey.
Her TikTok was titled: “Why I take a plane to work.” She only commutes one day a week to get to her summer internship at Ogilvy Health. Celentano notes that it is an “untraditional thing to do” but it works for her.
She gets up at 3 a.m. to catch her flight each Wednesday and says she’d rather do that so she could spend time with her family. While some people feel she’s driving herself crazy by taking two flights a day, she says it’s not difficult for her. She enjoys traveling and adventure. In a post on LinkedIn, she breaks out the cost of rent in New Jersey versus her round-trip flight each week.
It’s also important to note that Celentano only has to work on location one day per week for the internship.
South Carolina Woman Commutes To New Jersey:
Apparently, she isn’t the only person who has this type of commute. There’s another employee who commutes from Atlanta each week. Thankfully, it seems the program is only around 10 weeks long, which was factored into Celentano’s decision to commute by plane from South Carolina to New Jersey each week.

Her reasons behind her commute by plane make sense. And also, you can see that the internship itself seems to be very hard to pass up in today’s job market. If you had the chance and the means to do it… wouldn’t you?
It’s a great experience for her as a young woman to travel and also gain experience along the way.
