Food Network’s “Restaurant: Impossible” NOT Coming To Augusta
Not long ago, there was news that Food Network’s “Restaurant: Impossible” was coming to the Augusta area.
The filming was expected to take place January 10th and 11th. The show was going to be done around Chef Redd’s BBQ.
Just yesterday, it was revealed this plan has changed. Potential guests invited to the reopening received an email. “Due to recent circumstances” the filming at Chef Redd’s BBQ has been postponed.
Although, it is noted that those who signed up will be made aware when the filming is rescheduled.
According to WJBF, John Sampson (better known as Chef Redd) was evicted from the restaurant due to falling behind in rent. He says it’s because of falsified paperwork that he never received.
As someone known to care for his employees and give back to the community, Sampson is not done. He has plans to open a new restaurant on property he owns on Wrightsboro Road. It seems this will be the new chapter where Restaurant: Impossible will step in to help him tell his story!
