Disney shared the poster on Twitter:

Chris Evans shared his excitement for the animated film, writing on Twitter, “I’m covered in goosebumps. And will be every time I watch this trailer. Or hear a Bowie song. Or have any thought whatsoever between now and July cause nothing has ever made me feel more joy and gratitude than knowing I’m a part of this and it’s basically always on my mind💙🚀💫” He then revised the release date to June in another tweet:

In another tweet, Evans, 40, got nostalgic about his childhood writing, “Animated movie were an enormous part of my childhood. They were my escape. My adventures. My dreams. They were my first window into the magic of storytelling and performing.” The Knives Out actor included a screenshot of a statement he shared, giving thanks to Pixar and animated film director Angus MacLane.

Fans who know about Evans’ love for animated movies shared their excitement on Twitter:

One user shared a photo of Evans’ Captain America suit unveiling next to Buzz’s suit writing, “Same energy.”

One user compared the new Buzz to the old writing, “Super Smash Bros Brawl vs. Super Smash Bros Ultimate be like:”

Who knew Buzz had hair?!

Apparently, as one Twitter user pointed out, “If the Buzz Lightyear film really is an in-universe movie that explains why he’s a popular toy in the Toy Story world, that would be mind-blowing af. Because Disney will sell new Buzz toys that parents will buy for their kids making their fiction become our reality.”

One user is happy that Evans is voicing Buzz instead of 1995’s Tim Allen:
