Nearly 60 Arrested in Richmond County’s “No Loyalty” Undercover Operation
The Richmond County Narcotics Division and Gang Unit has announced the arrests of nearly 60 people in a two-phase operation aimed at dismantling a large violent drug trafficking organization within the Augusta area.
Those taken into custody have been connected to either violent crimes within the CSRA and/or narcotics offenses.
Sheriff Richard Roundtree announced today the arrests of several drug trafficking co-conspirator involved in the Ellis McDaniel/Joshua McDaniel Drug Trafficking Organization. During Phase 1 of the investigation, 16 search warrants were executed.

Additional Charges
“We anticipate additional charges with both State and Federal indictments expected,” according to a news release from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. “This is a continuation of Sheriff Roundtree’s commitment to the disruption and dismantling of dangerous violent drug trafficking organizations and criminal street gangs in our community while also targeting those that support and enable these criminal drug trafficking enterprises.”
Between both phases of the undercover operation, officials seized more than $462,000 in cash, cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamines, 62 firearms, 9 vehicles, and two houses.
Agencies participating in Phase 1 of the undercover operation were The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and Criminal Intelligence Division, the Federal Bureau of Investigations Safe Streets Gang Task Force (FBI), the Georgia Bureau of Investigations (GBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the Attorney General’s Office Gang Prosecution Unit, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia State Patrol. During Phase 2, agencies participating in the investigation were The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division/Gang Unit and Criminal Intelligence Division, the FBI, the Attorney General’s Office Gang Prosecution Unit, GBI, ATF, the Georgia State Patrol, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Grovetown Police Department, the Georgia Department of Corrections Intelligence Division, and the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office.
