Kevin Hart Says He’s in a ‘Secret’ Action Movie Group Chat with Tom Cruise
Kevin Hart attends the Netflix's "Lift" World Premiere at Jazz at Lincoln Center on January 08, 2024 in New York City. Tom Cruise attends the "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One" New York Premiere at Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center on July 10, 2023 in New York City.
Kevin Hart is expanding into the action world, aligning himself up with some heavy hitters in the genre. While promoting his latest heist movie, Lift in New York City on Monday (January 8), the actor, 44, told People that he’s part of a “secret” action movie group chat. The Ride Along star claims Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Jet Li, and Jackie Chan “are all a part of this epic group chat. All the biggest guys,” Hart jokingly told the publication. “You know, we just talk about action stuff. It’s a real secret chat. I shouldn’t be talking to you about this chat. I could get in a lot of trouble from the other action guys.”
However, Hart disclosed that he is very in tune with Cruise, 61, and Johnson, 51. “We just share action stories. That’s the thing — when you’re an action guy, you have to have action stories. So our chat is all about ping-ponging action stories and just making sure that everyone’s in sync, you know? That’s what it’s about,” he tells the publication. With Johnson, Hart has appeared in several films alongside the former wrestler. The two starred in 2016’s Central Intelligence, 2017’s Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and 2019’s Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. However, he has yet to work with the rest of the action stars in his alleged group chat.
At the Lift premiere on Monday, Hart also spoke about bonding with the cast of his latest film. His co-stars include Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Billy Magnussen, Jacob Batalon, Jean Reno, and Sam Worthington. Hart said that the cast was authentically connected to each other and would often eat dinner together. Their bond “ultimately added great value” to their work in the film. Lift follows Hart’s character, Cyrus Whitaker, who puts together a heist team to steal $500 million in gold from a passenger plane mid-flight. It premieres on Netflix on Friday, January 12.
Sexiest Short Kings Under 5'7"
When it comes to being sexy, height is not a factor. For these male celebrities under 5 feet 7 inches, they prove just that. As Urban Dictionary describes it, a “short king” is “a man who realizes that his lack of height has nothing to do with his perception of his own self-worth.” That’s exactly what these leading men in the entertainment industry do — they break barriers. Hollywood’s hottest used to be reserved for the most buff, tallest men. But now, being under the average national height isn’t even a factor in a celebrity’s hotness level. For the short kings who are on this list, their shortness makes them even more attractive.
Height Statistics
The average height for men 20 years or older is about 5 feet 9 inches tall. Factors like genetics, nutrition, and medical conditions can affect a person’s height. This average is based on 2015–2016 data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. According to Health, humans are taller than their ancestors. Ten thousand-year-old male skeletons from Europe measured 5 feet 6 inches. Even looking back to only the 1960s, the average male was an inch shorter than today’s measurements. Some countries have seen more drastic trends. One study found men in Iran have grown about 6.7 inches in the last 100 years — that’s the largest height gain in the world.
Despite humans being taller than our ancestors, our society used to rag on short men. There are still people out there who aren’t attracted to others under a certain height, but for those who don’t find it to be a hindrance, short men can be as hot as, if not hotter, than those who are vertically inclined. Thanks to social media apps like TikTok, short kings videos have nearly 36 million views. Or even Saturday Night Live‘s hilarious segment about “petite princes” and tiny titans.”
