Evans Towne Center Park Kicks Off The Holiday Spirit With Annual Display Of Lights and More

Evans Towne Center Park will be lit up this evening with the annual display of Christmas lights. The lighting will be at 5:30 pm sharp.

This will be the park’s first step to a Winter Wonderland. If you didn’t catch the lighting up of the park, no worries, more holiday events are to follow at the Evans Towne Center Park this holiday season.

Sip N Shop – November 30

On November 30, community members will also have the opportunity to experience the annual Columbia County Sip and Shop event will take place from 4 pm to 9 pm. The event is for family and friends to grab a drink and shop local vendors, such as food vendors, craft vendors, and much more.

This could also be a great time to get your holiday shopping on!

Christmas in Columbia County – December 3

There will be another annual ceremony held to showcase the Christmas tree lights come alive. While the initial Christmas light ceremony held on November 20, was to light the parks Christmas lights, one thing that is purposefully not lit, is the tree.

That ceremony will be held on Sunday, December 3. This day is also known as Christmas in Columbia County, because the whole day is filled with activities to bring on the holiday spirit in the town.

1 pm – Holiday Market Begins. This is another chance to explore local vendors around the CSRA. A few hours after the market begins, there will be a Christmas parade.

3 pm – The Christmas Parade will begin in Columbia County.

1:30 pm – 4:00 pm –  Santa Pictures. Throughout the afternoon Santa will be at the Evans Towne Center Park taking pictures.

And then the big finale to end the night..

6:15 pm Approximately – Tree Lighting Ceremony followed by fireworks.

Since the lights will be lit today at the park, you can also take a stroll through the light displays and take a glide at the Evans on Ice rink.

Where To Get Your Live Christmas Tree In Aiken & Augusta

This is the most wonderful time of the year.  This weekend kicks off the season for you to buy your Local Live Christmas Trees.  We have so many great locations across the CSRA to get live trees and most are open this weekend.

I’m a live tree person most all the time.  These days I’ve gone to an artificial tree for just one reason.  I like to put my tree up by November 1st.  If I wasn’t one of those people, I’d have a live tree every year. I love the smell and look of a live tree so much better.  When you put it up as early as I do, A live tree is not the way to go.

There are so many different accountings of how the Christmas Tree and decorations came to be that it’s truly hard to say which is the real or correct one.  With Approximately 25-30 million Real Christmas Trees are sold each year in the United States alone you have so many options.

These trees of course are not in all parts of the states.  Depends on the type of weather, soil, climate for these different types of trees to grow.  So if if this is your weekend to get busy and put up the the tree, We have some great locations here locally to shop.

  • Still Creek Tree Farm

    They are open now. Not only can you get a tree, you can cut your own.  Also check out the animals and have a day of fun!

  • Snowy Mountain Christmas Trees

    They have 2 locations. National Hills, near Publix.  2816 Washington Road.  They start selling this weekend.  The second location, 850 Blanchard Road, Evans.  They also start this we weekend.

  • Gay's Christmas Tree Farm

    Located at 2335 Tobacco Rd, Augusta.  They are also getting ready and will start selling on Saturday

  • Clarks Hill Christmas Tree Farm

    Located in beautiful Clarks Hill, Clarks Hill Christmas Tree Farm you can find at 39 Bennie Dorn Road, Clarks Hill.  They will be open starting November 24th.

  • Gurley's Christmas Tree Farm

    Gurley’s Christmas Tree Farm,  65 Williston Rd, Beech Island is ready to start on Saturday

  • Wrights Christmas Tree Farm

    We do not have an offical start date for Wrights just yet.  But its a tradition in Ward.  255 Christmas Tree Lane, Ward, SC

  • Ricks

    Ricks is located on 2630 Whiskey Rd, Aiken.  They are ready to go and are waiting on you.

  • Tom Sawyer's Christmas Trees

    Tom Sawyers is located 402 Uncle Duck Rd, Monetta is opening on Sunday November 19th for your tree shopping needs
