Atlanta Airport Stabbing Suspect’s Mug Shot Goes Viral
Woman Stabs Three People at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport
An Atlanta woman made headlines earlier this week when she allegedly stabbed multiple people at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Her mug shot went viral when police released it Thursday.
Clayton County authorities say 44-year-old Damaris Milton reportedly stabbed a taxi driver. The driver was taking her to the airport after picking her up at a MARTA train station. The driver told police he was traveling on I-285, not far from the airport, when Milton allegedly stabbed him in the upper chest before taking his phone and throwing it out the window.
The Incident
At the airport, police there were alerted there was a woman with a knife. Two officers spotted Milton as she was allegedly cutting a Delta Air Lines employee on the left side of her chest outside the security checkpoint near the airport’s south terminal.
One of the officers fired his Taser, while ordering Milton to drop the knife. Authorities say when she failed to follow the command. As a result, one of the officers used pepper spray to try to get Milton under control. But, he wound up slipping on the spray and fell. Authorities say that’s when Milton allegedly stabbed the officer in the leg. All three stabbing victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment. All three are being treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Motive
The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office has not yet established a motive for the incidents. In fact, they say Milton did not appear to know any of the victims. “It doesn’t appear that there’s a connection between her and them, but that’s something we’ll be looking into,” according to a statement from police.
Mugshot
Once Milton’s mug shot was released Thursday, it went viral. She’s making a face while crossing her eyes in the picture, in what authorities believe signaled her downplaying the seriousness of the incidents. Lots of comments on social media, however, indicate many are concerned about Milton’s mental health.
