He was appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live this week to promote his new movie Air. Affleck, 50, wanted to "air" out the reason why he has that look on his face.
If you're unfamiliar and haven't seen any of the memes of the actor/director, he most recently went viral for looking like he was in pain at this year's Grammys. In the video below, Ben is shown next to his wife, Jennifer Lopez. His eyebrows were raised and his mouth in the shape of a frown while Stevie Wonder and Chris Stapleton performed "Higher Ground."
Kimmel thanked Ben for inviting him and his wife over to his house for a Christmas party. Ben wasn't so sure if it would happen again, because he felt "some awkwardness." He agreed. "It did seem like you weren't quite as psyched about the party as everybody else was."
He referred to his default expression, often known as "resting bitch face" in women. "See, that's a common misconception about me." Kimmel hilariously agreed and added, "Well, tell your face is really the thing!"

Ben admitted, "I have a very unhappy-looking resting face." He tried to show the audience that no matter what emotion he is feeling, he still looks unhappy. "That's how God made me," he said. "You don't have to punish me for it!"
In addition to addressing his resting bitch face, Kimmel gifted Ben a belated wedding gift while on the show. The host allowed his longtime nemesis, Matt Damon to call into the show for one question about their new movie Air. After faking a FaceTime call, Damon excitedly appeared on the screen "Zoom style." However, before Damon could answer Kimmel's "really good question," the connection was lost.
The Sexiest Men Alive From The Last 20 Years
Take a stroll through the last 20 years of People's Sexiest Men Alive. This year, the award went to Grey's Anatomy's neurosurgeon Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd. The long-awaited title is something we look forward to every year, and this year's choice has been worth the wait. The actor has never been given the title before, and with nearly 20 years of being television eye candy, the actor told the publication when he first heard the news, “I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right?” As for how his kids will respond, the Maine native insists they’re just going to make fun of him.
Humble Beginnings
Growing up in Maine, he recalled always having to be moving, so he took up a lot of sports like baseball, soccer, skiing, cycling." The Ferrari actor had dyslexia, so he didn't love school, and described himself as a "late bloomer." In his youth, Dempsey joined a vaudeville troupe and rode a unicycle while juggling.
Now, the key is maturity and wisdom for the Can't Buy Me Love alum. "You go through cycles of life, so you understand there are going to be high and low moments and what are the most important things. Everything else is a gift.” Despite his heartthrob status over the years, “I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life,” he says of his new title.
