Trevor Noah Responds To Kanye: ‘It Breaks My Heart’
Trevor Noah has offered compassion to Kanye West after a post the rapper made on Wednesday to Instagram hurling racial slurs at the South African comic.
“Damn, here we go again,” Noah, started his response in the comments section of a since-deleted post on Ye’s page calling the comedian a racial slur.
The Daily News host praised Kanye’s genius and how his artistry has impacted him but the comedian admitted it “broke his heart” to see the rapper like this referring to his latest social media antics, per Page Six.
“You’re an indelible part of my life Ye. Which is why it breaks my heart to see you like this,” Noah continued. “I don’t care if you support Trump and I don’t care if you roast Pete. I do however care when I see you on a path that’s dangerously close to peril and pain.”
“I thought differently about how I spent my money because of you, I learned to protect my child-like creativity from grown thoughts because of you, s— I still smile every time I put on a seatbelt because of you,” the Comedy Central personality shared.
“Oh and as for K—…clearly some people graduate but we still stupid,” Noah added. “Don’t ever forget, the biggest trick racists ever played on black people was teaching us to strip each other of our blackness whenever we disagree. Tricking us into dividing ourselves up into splinters so that we would never unite into a powerful rod.”
The comedian concluded that the “K–nbaya” play on words was “funny as s—” adding that maybe they can share a laugh together in the future.
Following Ye’s attack, the rapper was suspended from Instagram for 24 hours.
