CSRA News: Bill to Improve Property Passed in Senate
Senate bill 227 passed in the Georgia Senate Wednesday, giving local governments the power to declare abandoned mall property “blighted.”
Senator Harold Jones of Augusta sponsored the bill, saying it will allow local governments to use their powers under eminent domain to improve the property.
The bill now makes its way through the House and eventually Governor Brian Kemp’s desk for his signature.
