Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine attend the Baby2Baby 10-Year Gala presented by Paul Mitchell on November 13, 2021 in West Hollywood, California.

Adam Levine showed off a new tattoo — on his face — on a red carpet with wife Behati Prinsloo by his side. The couple was out in Miami to celebrate AD100 party during Art Basel, and the Maroon 5 frontman sported a single black rose tattooed down his left temple, which could be seen as he wrapped his arms around his wife’s waist on the red carpet.

However, the 42-year-old musician took to his Instagram story to address his mother, “I do not have a tattoo on my face,” pointing to his barren face, “‘Cause those who know me know I’m too vain, I’m too f—-ing vain to get a tattoo on my face. I’ll tattoo the rest of this, but the face has got to stay the same.”

It’s unclear if Levine’s face tat was a marketing ploy for the new rose-hued tequila he and Prinsloo, 33, launched earlier this year, Calirosa Tequila. While tequila is typically aged in whiskey barrels, pink tequila is aged in red wine barrels for 30 days, a process that allows for unique aromas of strawberry, raspberry and honey.

Prinsloo previously told People how they fell in love with the process of making pink tequila, “Adam and I love Mexico and first tried a pink tequila when we were in there three or four years ago. We were blown away. I had never heard of tequila being aged in red wine barrels so I was thinking, ‘This is crazy! Do they dye it?'”

Levine’s most recent ink was in October, of a butterfly on his neck caught in a spider web, just above his clavicle tattoo that reads “Family.” In August, Levine spent two days getting a leg tattoo that took tattoo artist Bill Canales 13 hours to create the intricate Japanese-inspired design.

The musician’s passion for tattoos runs deep — he has two full sleeves on his arms and more than a dozen other designs inked across his body. “Tattoos wind up being this strange road map or narrative over the years,” he told People in 2013 for his Sexiest Man Alive cover. “They always remind me of this long, weird, awesome journey life has been.”
