Friendly Sign War Between Chick-fil-A and a Jewelry Store
A friendly sign war between Chick-fil-A and a jewelry store has garnered a lot of attention. Not only locally, but now is going viral! The Chick-fil-a and Jeff Dennis Jewelersare located in Gardendale, Alabama.
How It Started!
The war began when the jewelry store was looking for a way to highlight their new drive-thru. Jewelry store owner Jeff Dennis changed their sign to say their drive-thru was faster than Chick-fil-A’s. Then took to Facebook to officially declare “war.”
The Chick-fil-A owner is a friend of Dennis, but it was the marketing director there who stepped up to the challenge. He retaliated with “Overflow parking located at Jeff Dennis Jewelers!”
At this point… there’s no turning back!
Retaliation!
The jewelry store came back with “I have gold nuggets. My nuggets are better than Chick-fil-A’s chicken nuggets.”
The banter continued between the two locations, with Dennis posting lawn letters telling people to “Buy Mor Diamonds.”
The friendly war has gained a lot of attention and enjoyment from the community. Even the mayor of Gardendale wanted in on the fun!
Other local businesses jumped in too… like the animal hospital, saying “If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, she really needs a dog.”
Some members of the community have enjoyed it so much, one woman said she woke up ready to find out who said something back.
And look! Even a local church jumped in!
It’s Not The First Time!
You might remember the whole “chicken sandwich wars” when Popeyes launched their sandwich and the debate began. And then McDonald’s joined in. Then Burger King!
This type of friendly banter is not only entertaining, but also great for the businesses. Just look at these stores in Alabama– they’ve gained NATIONAL attention. It’s a great thing to see civil and friendly “wars,” especially during a time when there’s a lot of negativity out there! We love that these places are lightening the mood and having fun within their community.
