Happy Birthday, John Mayer (October 16th)!  Did you know that John Mayer first became obsessed with the guitar when he saw Marty McFly perform in Back to the Future in 1985?

On his 13th birthday, his father purchased him his first instrument and the rest is history!

6. Bigger Than My Body

According to MTV, John wrote this song after he saw Coldplay in concert. He was so overwhelmed by their great performance, he wanted to describe what it’s like to see great music live.

 

7. Say

Written for The Bucket List, John won a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

 

8. No Such Things

This was a debut single off of his album, Room for Squares. He wrote this song in response to a guidance counselor who told students to “stay inside the lines”.
