Which cities are the best places to retire? One South Carolina city is the number one best place to retire on a list compiled by WalletHub.  And if you were to guess, which city would you think of? Keep reading to see!

Hope For Retirement

We put in years of hard work, in hopes of one day reaching retirement.  But in today’s world, not everyone is confident they’ll be financially secure to retire. For some, they feel the only option is to keep working.  In a 2021 Gallup poll, many workers plan to retire at 64 years old, compared to 60 years old back in 1995. But, perhaps you can relocate somewhere that is more affordable.

Best Place To Retire

Retirement is just about the money.  People want to live in a safe place, with many ways to spend their time and good weather.  And that’s exactly what WalletHub considered when compiling a list of 180 cities for “retiree-friendliness.” They looked at 46 key metrics, including the cost of living, retired taxpayer-friendliness, activities, and healthcare options.

And when it comes to Augusta… well, we ranked at 112 out of 182.  Not the worst, but not the best either! Not ready to retire? Check out the best employers to work for in South Carolina here.

First, we’ll take a look at the top 10 best places to retire, then the 10 worst!
