BrandSmart USA Is Now Open In Augusta
BrandSmart USA is now open in Augusta!
On Location
So, in 46 years of doing this, I’m sure I’ve done close to 1,000 on location remotes. But honestly, over the last five years, and on a news/talk station, we don’t do many remotes. Yes, I am paid to do these remotes.
I had one last Saturday morning. It was the opening of the new BrandSmart USA store on Robert C. Daniel Parkway. It’s in the old Ashley Furniture location, just behind the Chick-fil-A.
BrandSmart USA specializes in providing great prices on televisions, appliances, computers and more.
What’s Inside
Here’s an example of what we saw during the remote. When we got there, about an hour before the store was scheduled to open, right in the middle of the showroom floor were three boxes. Each box contained an eighty-six inch, Element TV. They were selling them for $599. The tag said that was a $500 savings. We watched them open the door, we watched three couples move toward the boxes and each claimed one for themselves. At that point we wondered if there would be more. Yes! Two more boxes made their way to the showroom floor and they too were gobbled up quickly.
There was a pack of corporate types in for the grand opening and I asked one of them if every grand opening was like this and they said “Absolutely. Sometimes bigger, depending on the size of the market.”
Here’s what I know about the folks coming to the store last Saturday morning. When we got there, they were wrapped around the building waiting to get it. By the way, the first one hundred fifty folks in the store got a fifty dollar BrandSmart USA gift card.
The Crowd
When we were packing up to leave, at 11 a.m., an hour after the store had opened the doors, there were still people outside, in line waiting to get in.
Having lived here for nearly forty years, I’m always appreciative when a “new” business, something we don’t already have, comes to town. I think it just helps us in the long run become a well rounded community. I’m sure the folks at BrandSmart USA don’t enter a market with a fair amount of research being done. So I appreciate it when there’s enough belief in us to go to the expense of a new store.
When the opportunity arises, and you’re in need of an eighty-six inch TV, check them out.
