Hilary Swank Pregnant With Twins At 48, Receives Criticism Online
Hilary Swank is gearing up for her most important role yet: mom. The award-winning actress, 48, shared that she is expecting twins with her husband of four years, Phillip Schneider. In a Wednesday (October 5) Instagram post, the Million Dollar Baby star shared an adorable clip cradling her baby bump. She captioned the post: “Coming soon…DOUBLE feature!” with two baby emojis.
While making an appearance yesterday on Live With Kelly and Ryan, Swank said, “My clothes started not to fit so I had to, the other day … cut [my jeans] open. And then I put a jacket that wasn’t in continuity. And [they] came and said, ‘That’s not in continuity.’ I said, ‘Oh, I think it works.’ ‘It doesn’t.’ ‘No, it does. I’m going to make it work.'”
Noting that she is currently in her second trimester, the actress added, “It’s such a blessing. It’s a total miracle. It’s unbelievable.”
The comments on social media flooded with both praise and criticism. Tyrese Gibson wrote, “Whooooaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations wow….” Kate Hudson commented, “What what what!!! Yeah congrats my friend.” Debra Messing shared her excitement: “WHATTTTTTTTT?!?! Hilary!!!!! I’m so happy for you two!!!!!!! You THREE!!!!!!!” Katie Couric said, “Congratulations!!!! So so happy for you.”
One user chimed in with a critical comment, which prompted Hilary’s You’re Not You co-star Emmy Rossum to address them directly. “AREN’T YOU LIKE 50 YRS OLD,” the Instagram user commented. “Gonna be in your 70’s when they graduate college. MIGHT live to see their wedding, maybe.” To which Emmy simply responded with three letters: “Gfy” (An abbreviation for “go f— yourself”).
