Apparently, We’re All Stowing Our Carry-On Bags Incorrectly
There’s something flight attendants want you to know, especially on planes with updated overhead bins: You’re stowing your carry-on bags incorrectly.
The Wall Street Journal recently published an article detailing this issue. Many airlines have invested heavily in upgrading their overhead bins and making them larger. However, this means there’s a new way to stow away your bag. Here’s United explaining it on TikTok.

If that video doesn’t stick with you, WSJ added, “Flight attendants on many airlines make repeated announcements about turning the bags onto their side, sometimes comparing the ideal bin layout to a plate of tacos.”
And there you go! Whenever you’re boarding a plane next, remember tacos. If anything, you’ll save your flight attendants a lot of unnecessary work, and hopefully, you’ll settle in and take off sooner.
