CSRA News: AU Health Relaxes COVID-19 Protocols
In a press release from AU Health, they announced they will now ease COVID-19 Protocols for visitors, effective immediately. This news comes after updated criteria was released from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The COVID-19 community level is now low, leading to relaxed protocols.
The new protocols apply to AU Health, Children’s Hospital of Georgia and the Georgia Cancer Center.
The updated visitation policy includes:
- Masks are no longer required for visitors, except in areas with high concentrations of immunocompromised patients (ex. cancer treatment areas).
- Families, partners in care and guests are welcome 24 hours a day, according to patient preference.
- Waiting rooms are open.
- No limitations are placed on in-person gatherings or meetings.
AU Health still requires hand hygiene upon entering the facilities and all patient care areas. In addition- no support persons will be allowed to visit with COVID-19 patients who are on active precautions.
