Kaley Cucoco and Karl Cook Split After 3 Years of Marriage
Kaley Cuoco and Karl Cook are breaking up after three years of marriage, sharing a joint statement today (September 3) about their split.
The Big Bang Theory star and her equestrian husband told USA Today, “Despite a deep love and respect for one another, we have realized that our current paths have taken us in opposite directions. We have both shared so much of our journey publicly so while we would prefer to keep this aspect of our personal life private, we wanted to be forthcoming in our truth together. There is no anger or animosity, quite the contrary.”
The couple added, “We have made this decision together through an immense amount of respect and consideration for one another and request that you do the same in understanding that we will not be sharing any additional details or commenting further.”
Cuoco, 34, and Cook, 30, got married on June 30, 2018, though they didn’t live together until last spring; the unconventional arrangement was one Cuoco said worked well for them.
“I have the best relationship with Karl. We are so happy,” she said a year into their marriage. “But we have separate lives and then our lives come together and he’s so supportive of me. He lets me be me, and I let him be him.”
Last April, The Flight Attendant actress confirmed that she and Cook were finally becoming roommates in a home they built together. “We are so excited,” Cuoco said at the time. “We have not spent an evening in it yet. Actually, Karl’s been at home, and I’ve been like, ‘Why don’t you stay at the house?’ But he’s waiting for me to get there and have all the animals there.”
Cuoco joked the move meant she and her husband were finally “going steady.”
“He gave me his letterman jacket,” she said. “We’re moving in together.”
This June, Cuoco posted a sweet anniversary post on Instagram in celebration of their three years of marriage writing, “NY, June 30th ,2016 is the year we met. 2 years to the day before we got married and now 3 years married! Why have you stayed married to me for so long?! I’m sincerely impressed @mrtankcook lol I love you oh so much you have no idea …happy anniversary!!! ❤️❤️❤️”

Cuoco’s marriage to Cook is her second, previously married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting for a mere 21 months. She revealed in 2018 that she wasn’t sure she would get married again, saying, “My ex ruined that word for me. I married someone the first time who completely changed. The person I ended up with was not the person I originally met.”
