My Taylor Swift Atlanta experience was one I will never forget. On the way down I-20, I listened to “Taylor Besties(Our Version)” playlist my wife and I created. It currently sits at 32 songs. That entire playlist got me from the front door to the hotel as it was ending. Oddly, I didn’t hit traffic once as I was getting into the Atlanta metro. I took that as a great sign of how the night was going to go. I dropped my car with the valet and went inside to check-in. That’s when I realized that all of the traffic I avoided coming in was in line checking in at my hotel. There was one very big problem. None of the rooms were ready. My Taylor Swift Atlanta experience was about to get very real.
Around 2:30 PM I was told my room was going to be ready by 4:00. I then grabbed a seat at a small table and started waiting. When I looked around at the 50 or so people also waiting in the lobby, I noticed that most everyone had their makeup carriers out and travel mirrors set up on the bar. Each one had a ring light attached to it. Complete strangers were borrowing things from one another. As they finished up their makeup, they were darting to the hotel bathroom to complete their ensemble. Most rooms, including mine, still weren’t ready by 4:30 PM. Fans were leaving their bags with the front desk and bolting to Mercedes-Benz Stadium so they could be there when the doors opened. I finally got to my room at 5:00 PM, had a cocktail, changed, and walked to the show. She was flawless from beginning to end. Highlights are below and scroll down for my three favorite Taylor Swift songs.
