There are a lot of streaming services out there, but Netflix is one of the originals.  And there’s still a lot of great shows and movies to be discovered on there.

Whether it’s a Netflix original, or an old favorite… there’s nothing quite like kicking back on the couch and binge-watching some great shows.  Check out my top 8 favorite pollen-free Netflix shows below!

Fenway’s Top 8 Favorite Netflix Shows

  • Bridgerton

It’s hard not to love Bridgerton.  The first season was at the top of Netflix’s most popular shows for a reason!  Comedy, drama, romance, scandals and more in London’s high society. Can’t wait to see what or WHO Lady Whistledown has to write about next.  Each episode literally feels like the quickest hour ever!

  • New Girl

This one is so underrated in my opinion.  There’s a lot to love about New Girl!  Jess is a quirky teacher, living in a loft in Los Angeles with three male roommates.  You’ve got the best of comedy, drama and romance, following these characters as they navigate through their early 30s.  I didn’t get into this until season 4 when it was airing on Fox and the Prince episode is my absolutely favorite.  Also, I know a guy that looks exactly like Jake Johnson.  Every time we Zoom I get thrown way off, haha!

  • The Good Place

What makes a good person? That’s what this comedy series is about.  Lots of surprises and plot twists along the way as one woman(Kristen Bell) enters the afterlife in The Good Place, but that might have been a mistake!  Will her path be the Good Place?  Or, the Bad Place?  This is easy and fun to watch with the family and don’t be surprised if you start craving shrimp.

  • Schitt's Creek

Watching this former wealthy family stumble their way through ups and downs, as they live in a motel, sounds less enticing than it really is.  It actually came from the concept of how wealthy families would react if they lost their fortunes. The writing, humor and acting helped this show gain massive success.  Plus, there are plenty of great one liners too!  The entire cast is fantastic and I’ve already streamed through it three times.  At least one cry-laugh is guaranteed in each episode and it just brings me so much comfort.

  • Gilmore Girls

This is a show that has stood the test of time, and was even named on of Time magazines 100 greatest TV shows of all time. When you need a little nostalgia, just grab a cup of coffee and pull up an episode of Gilmore Girls.  My wife has basically memorized every single episode and I’m still catching things I missed in the eight other times I’ve streamed through it.

  • Peaky Blinders

This British crime drama is based loosely off of a real urban youth gang named Peaky Blinders that was active in Birmingham, England in the 1890s to the 1910s. The show follows the gang’s crime escapades which start shortly after the first World War.  I watch this for the plot line, whiskey and violence.  My wife watches it for Cillian Murphy.

  • Ozark

This series follows the life of a self-employed financial advisor who winds up in business laundering money for the Mexican drug cartel. The show has received a lot of positive reviews and been nominated and winning many awards.  The writing and production are top-notch. Part 2 of the final season drops April 29th and I can’t wait to see how all of this ends with Ruth.  My wife watches it for Jason Bateman.

  • Stranger Things

This show is full of mystery and supernatural events.  It’s investigative with a mix of horror and science fiction.  It has gained record viewership on Netflix.  The season 4 finale begins May 27th and I really need to know what the heck is going on with Hopper!
