We all have a Waffle House that we call our location. If your location is Georgia Avenue in North Augusta, then you need to check this out. Changes are coming to this location soon.
Starting the first weekend in March, the lobby and the dining-in option for the Georgia Avenue Waffle House location will be closed. You will still have the option to get your WH favorites, it will just be different.
What Is Changing
Starting Friday, March 1st, and every Friday and Saturday night, the Georgia Avenue location of Waffle House will close its lobby at 9 pm and not open till 7 am the next day and only do to-go orders.
You will have several options when it comes to ordering:
- You can call ahead at (803) 279-5661.
- The app will also be available with the full menu.
- They have a QR code on the window and you can order that way.
- You can use the website Wafflehouse.com.
- If you aren’t into that, just walk up and place your order at the window.
Why The Weekend Change?
For a lot of people who just are night owls or work late, they love to have a meal and coffee and relax before going home. We all also know that Waffle House is the place to go after a night out on the town. The Georgia Avenue location is just off the 13th Street bridge that connects to downtown Augusta. It seems that some of the crowds from the downtown nightlife have gotten rowdy lately and this is a way to control the late crowd and keep things in order.
Will This Be Happening At Other Locations?
After driving by other locations in North Augusta, Aiken, and Augusta, I did not see the addition of the late-night ordering window. Each Waffle House is a franchise restaurant and each owner can make changes to fit the business model they feel works for them
*It has been brought to my attention that this location is a corporate store and not a franchise
So when you head to the North Augusta location on Georgia Avenue and see people in the parking lot standing around and you can’t get in the door, you now will know why. Please also keep in mind that the cooks and waitresses are still working as hard to make sure your order is correct. Please tip generously to the men and women. There will be a lot of cases where the workload may increase for them.
