Taylor Swift Is Now The Richest Female Musician
Taylor Swift is now the world’s richest female musician, USA Today reports. According to Forbes magazine, Swift is now worth $1.6 billion, passing Rihanna, who is worth $1.4 billion. Swift’s Eras Tour made an estimated $600 million and her music catalog is worth more than $600 million and she has over $125 million in real estate holdings. Forbes notes that she first became a billionaire in October 2023.
USA Today notes that last year, Swift, 34. became the first billionaire in music primarily = off of songwriting and performing. In other words, other musicians have other companies and endorsements, but Swift’s earings are mostly from her recordings, songwriting and touring.
Taylor Swift still has 18 shows left on the Eras tour; it kicks off a new string of dates on October 18 and the tour comes to a close on December 8 in Vancouver, Canada.
Forbes ranks Swift as #24 on their list of America’s Self-Made Women, and #2545 on their list of billionaires.
Not that everyone is impressed with Swift. Some angry guy paid $4,000 for a guitar that was supposedly autographed by Swift at an auction, only to smash it with a hammer as some part of political demonstration. However, it was later revealed that she did not, in fact, sign the guitar. But even if that guy isn’t a fan, Swift probably isn’t losing sleep. And it turns out that rock and roll legend, Pete Townshend of the Who, is a fan. Post Malone, who Swift recently collaborated with, is also a fan. Even Gary Holt, of metal bands Slayer and Exodus, likes Taylor Swift. Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam had his daughter Harper join him onstage to perform part of a Taylor Swift song. And we have it on good authority that Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce likes her music, too.
