Brittany Mahomes and Taylor Swift Navigate Football, Politics
During Super Bowl LIX, Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes watched from different VIP boxes while the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 9, 2025.
The good friends ditched their usual game-day routine of watching together because President Donald Trump was in attendance. Their separation got people talking at State Farm Stadium.
Both wore white outfits matching the Chiefs’ uniforms — a move tied to Super Bowl history. Teams wearing white have won about two-thirds of past Super Bowls.
Fans had mixed reactions during the game. Swift got booed when shown on the big screen, while Mahomes received criticism for posting happy photos after the Chiefs lost.
“That could have been a PR nightmare if the two were seated together when Taylor was booed,” a source said, according to Athlon Sports.
But they’re still tight friends, seen hanging out at Swift’s birthday party and grabbing dinner before the game.
Brittany and quarterback Patrick Mahomes began dating in high school in 2012. They tied the knot in Maui on March 12, 2022. Now they have three kids: Sterling Skye, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, and Golden Raye.
Swift showing up at games this season caused many fans to tune in. Her relationship with Travis Kelce put even more eyes on Chiefs games.
