Georgia Halloween Parade Named One of the Best in the U.S.
Halloween is jam-packed with fun activities for kids and adults alike, including a Georgia Halloween parade that’s been named one of the best in America. From Halloween parades to haunted houses, the fall season really brings so many memorable things to do and traditions to build. I always like going to haunted houses during the fall months, but some of them can be too scary for me. I also love hitting the local cider mill and walking through a glorious corn field, whether it’s haunted or not. There’s just something special about fall, and I think that’s why it’s a lot of people’s favorite season. It seems like all of my friends love fall more than any other season. In any case, if you’re looking for something fun to do in the state this season, check out this legendary Georgia Halloween parade.
Georgia Halloween Parade: Little 5 Points Halloween Festival
The Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade is back for 2024 and will take place on Oct. 19 and 20 in Atlanta. This festival and parade is famed and was even named one of the best in the country by USA Today last year. “In its current iteration since 2001, the Little 5 Points Halloween Festival & Parade ushers in the season with an array of events,” they write. “Set in a popular arts hub of Atlanta, expect a lot of creativity everywhere, from individual costumes to decorated floats, art cars, a 3D haunted house, ghost tours, and more.”
Event officials describe the festival and parade as “one of the Southeast’s most beloved events, drawing massive crowds each year. Produced by the 64-year-old Little 5 Points Business Association, the festival is a cultural institution in Atlanta, showcasing the unique energy, artistry, and creativity that defines the neighborhood.”
This year, expect lots of favorites, as well as a spotlight on L5P Halloweenville, an immersive Halloween realm that Shane Morton created in collaboration with the High Museum of Art. You can expect everything from eerie art installations to interactive exhibits and more. Of course, the festival’s Halloween parade will be the center of the fun. It’s set for Sunday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. Expect spooky floats, bizarre costumes, amazing performers and more. You’ll also find an artist market, ghost tours, live music, wrestling, a skate ramp, pumpkin smashing and more. I think it sounds super fun. They really know how to make Halloween one of the biggest events of the year.
