‘Kardashians’ Fans Call Tristan Thompson a ‘Master Manipulator’

Tristan Thompson embarked on his apology tour to the Kardashian family during this week’s episode of The Kardashians. Throughout the show, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Kim Kardashian, Malika Haqq, and Scott Disick have all put their two cents in support of Khloe Kardashian getting back together with Tristan. As we previously reported, the pro basketball player moved in with Khloe after his home was flooded with his disabled brother. Khloe and her family have been there for Tristan after the sudden passing of his mother as well.

Despite the two being able to co-parent their children, Thompson, 32, has been cheating on Khloe, 39, for years. The two began dating in 2016, and just days before Khloe gave birth to their first child in 2018, she first found out about him cheating. After forgiving him for that, Tristan cheated again, but this time with Kylie Jenner’s friend, Jordyn Woods. Once again, Khloe forgave him, but in 2021, she was devastated when she learned “with the rest of the world” that Tristan had secretly fathered a son with Maralee Nichols. He also was secretly battling a related court case over his paternity and child support issues.

Khloe later revealed on the reality show that Tristan simultaneously convinced her to go through with surrogacy plans for their second child. Their embryo was implanted in the surrogate just days before his paternity scandal was exposed. At the time, Khloe’s family admitted that it seemed as though Tristan was racing against the clock to “trap” her before he was found out. Khloe and Tristan’s son was born in July 2022, just months after his son with Maralee was born, whom she has claimed he is yet to meet.

Fans of the reality show noticed how much Tristan has been featured in the latest season. Many have taken to social media to criticize how it feels like an attempt at a "redemption arc" for Thompson. In the latest episode, he spoke to Kylie and Kourtney, leading fans to believe the Cleveland Cavaliers player is a "master manipulator" for calculating his speeches to fit what he knew each sister "wanted to hear."

Khloe Kardashian has spoken out about how painful it is when women are blamed for their unfaithful partners’ actions in a new interview with Variety. As you may be aware, Khloe has been in several unhealthy romantic relationships in the public eye -- from her destructive marriage with Lamar Odom due to his infidelity and abuse of substances, to the on-and-off relationship with father of her daughter True, NBA player Tristan Thompson. The pro hooper was accused of cheating multiple times — even while Khloe was pregnant with their now-3-year-old daughter.

Earlier this year, when news broke that Tristan had fathered another child during his and Khloe’s relationship, many comments online were quick to berate the reality star for his behavior. Now, speaking out about the subject with Variety, Khloe said that she finds it “really hurtful” to put the blame on a woman whose partner has cheated.

“If your significant other is doing something wrong, for the woman to be blamed, that’s always been really hurtful for me,” she said. “I’ve never quite understood that instead of there being some sympathy or like, 'Wow, that must really suck to have to go through that.' And not only go through it, but then go through it so publicly. I don’t even care if people have sympathy. I just don’t understand why there’s so much finger-pointing — like it must be me. That’s a heavy thing to carry."

If it weren't for her own infamous slandering of Jordyn Woods back in 2018 during the cheating scandal with Tristan, Khloe's point would normally be well-received. However, many people haven't forgotten that Khloe was quick to place blame solely on Jordyn rather than Tristan, accusing her of “lying” and being the sole reason her family “broke up” in a harsh public tweet after Jordyn gave an interview about the incident.

“Why are you lying @jordynwoods ?? If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!” Khloe tweeted at Jordyn in March 2019.
