Sesame Street is set to welcome a star-studded lineup of guests for its 55th season, premiering on Max on January 16th. Musical artists SZA, Noah Kahan, Chris Stapleton, Reneé Rapp, and Samara Joy are among the stars making appearances, along with actor Michael B. Jordan, TV personality and hairstylist Jonathan Van Ness, and tennis legend Billie Jean King.

This season focuses on teaching kids about emotional well-being through “Street Stories,” songs, and other engaging segments. New episodes will air every Thursday.

“New episodes of Sesame Street will help young viewers understand and express their feelings, learn new mindfulness practices, and as always, have a blast with their favorite furry and funny friends,” explains Sal Perez, the show’s executive producer. “Whether it’s taking a volcano breath when angry, learning to give yourself a hug when frustrated, or wiggling it out when disappointed, we are empowering children with the strategies to help build resiliency and the foundational skills for emotional well-being.”

Beloved characters like Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, Bert, Ernie, Elmo, and Abby will return to keep the learning and fun going. Episodes will also continue to be available on PBS stations and through streaming on PBS KIDS.
