I had the best of intentions when I moved into my house, but over the past few years I've definitely not kept up with certain things as well as I planned. Now, I wouldn't say my house is "messy." We do a pretty good job of not having too much junk laying around. But it does get dirty! I have two dogs, so of course, with them coming in and out of the house... dirt and fur are a big problem. Especially on rainy days! Ugh! So when it comes down to it, I'm always looking for easy cleaning hacks.
And where better to look... than TikTok! I will say, there are some people on there that stress me out. Their level of clean is somewhere I will NEVER be. I'm willing to say I will never have a spotless house. And I never obsess too much over certain things. But I definitely like for my house to be presentable should someone come over. And I never want my house to smell like I have dogs... even though I do, and I love them dearly! :)
So I'm rounding up some easy cleaning hacks from TikTok that I've either tried... or going to be trying. I figured I'd share with you, because we could all use simpler ways to clean and save time, right?
The Fan Hack
The hack for cleaning fan blades is one of my favorite. I've actually used this method for YEARS! I don't even remember where I learned about it, but it's a game changer!
Dog Hair on Carpet
I struggle with this one... BIG time! Unfortunately, I have more carpet in my house than I'd really like... And keeping it looking good with dogs is really hard. I wouldn't say this hack is quick... but it seems fairly easy. Now I need to get me a big squeegee!
Cleaning Baseboards
I'll be honest... My baseboards don't get cleaned as often as they should! But these tips seem easy enough to keep them clean. I've also heard you can use dryer sheets to clean them, but haven't tried that either.
Dishwasher Cleaning
I'm not sure what it is about my dishwasher... but it constantly smells. I've tried a lot of things, but can't seem to keep it clean for long. I like this hack for cleaning the filter though!
Quick Bathroom Cleaning
Bathrooms are the WORST to clean. I've been saying for a while I need to get me a dish wand to keep in the shower to maintain it, instead of killing myself each time I try to scrub it!
Dusting
Dusting may be one of the most frustrating cleaning tasks. Every time I dust, it's almost immediately back to having dust. I actually usually use my vaccuum cleaner, because at least then it's sucking up the dust, and not spreading it around. But this hack seems promising!
