I will say, the age of binge-watching has ruined me.  It’s SO hard for me to watch normal, weekly shows at this point.  I love being able to watch as much or as little as I want at a time. And when I finish an episode on a cliffhanger… at least I can immediately go to the next episode to find out what happened! The only bad part is when you get to the end of a season, and have to wait like a YEAR for more episodes.

But, I will say, I have to limit myself on my binge-watching.  I can so easily get sucked into a show, and nothing else gets done. I tend to be a bit more anti-social, start pulling up the show on my iPad to watch while I get ready in the mornings… It’s just not good for me. I have a lot going on in life, and I need to stay focused on those things!

So what do I watch when I finally give myself some down time? Well, I went for a brief period where I was all caught up and waiting on new episodes.  But in just the last few weeks it seems, multiple shows I watch have dropped new episodes. Now I’m back to binging!

Here are Blaine’s Top 10 Binge-Worthy Netflix Shows

  • Longmire

Not sure how we stumbled on this one.  It came out in 2012, but I didn’t discover it until maybe 2019? It’s like an old Western, but with a modern touch.  It’s got beautiful scenery, crime, and drama. With 6 seasons, and 63 total episodes, this one will keep you busy for a while!

    One last ride.

  • Virgin River

I was slightly late to the party on this one… but not by much.  Definitely fell in love with the storyline, and had to wait for seasons 2 and 3 to come out.  And now I’m back to the waiting game for season 4, which I haven’t seen a release date on yet.

  • Orange Is The New Black

I was definitely late to the game on this one.  Full of drama and comedy, this one roped me in big time.  Warning: language and nudity are frequent on this one!

  • Queen of the South

This one is full of action, drama and surprises.  Again, not quite sure how we stumbled on it, but it got us hooked fast!  After a REALLY long wait, season 5 just hit Netflix last week… so I’m currently watching that. Apparently it’s the FINAL season too.

  • Bridgerton

I’ve written about my love for Bridgerton a few times.  And of course, I’m now all caught up and waiting on another season.  I love the accents and the entire culture of the show.  It’s definitely full of drama, scandal, and a few really good laughs!

  • Sweet Magnolias

I really enjoyed the first season of this one.  It’s been a while though, so I may have to go back and refresh my memory.  I know season 1 left quite a cliffhanger, but because it was so long between seasons, I haven’t quite made it back around to the new season which came out recently.

  • Good Girls

I guess I’m pretty big on dramas that involve women getting into trouble! Haha.  I was sad when I heard this one would be ending.  I think I have the last few episodes or last season left to watch and then that’s it.  I just loved the storyline of these women winding up doing all of these crazy crimes!

  • Grace & Frankie

This was just a light-hearted show I picked to watch, mainly when I was running on the treadmill.  Something short enough that I could watch the whole episode while running.  Just a funny show to pass the time.  But I wound up really enjoying it.  Yet another one ending soon.

  • Schitt's Creek

Another short episode show I chose to pass the time on the treadmill.  My fiancé and I started watching the series together, but I could tell he wasn’t into it.  So I wound up watching it on my own. Again, just a distraction while running! But there are plenty of great one liners from this one.  And ironically? My fiancé’s name is David… so “Ew, David,” happens a lot!  Guess I didn’t realize this one had been around as long as it had.  Definitely late to the party on this one!

  • Bonus... if you have Amazon Prime Video: BOSCH

This one is actually not on Netflix, but it’s a show I REALLY love.  As someone who loves true crime, cop shows, etc. this one really drew me in! My mom was actually the one who told me about it, and as soon as we started watching we were hooked.  Still hoping for a spin-off!
