Sara's Fresh Market Is Open For 2024

It's so much fun to say that Sara's Fresh Market in Trenton is now open for the 2024 season. After enjoying breakfast at the Airport Grill in Trenton on Saturday, as I do almost every Saturday, I decided to take a drive down 25. When I made it down to around Sara's, I saw cars, and the covers were raised. It was time to make a U-turn and check it out.

What Did I Find For The Opening Weekend?

Watermelon
Cantaloupes
Strawberries
Local Honey
Early Vegetables
Ice Cream
Sweet Corn
Peach Fritters

While it is still some time before the peaches are in, the focus is on strawberry season and they are looking good for the year.

What About The Peaches At Sara's Fresh Market?

While it is early for local peaches and the growing season is still in full effect, the folks on Saturday told me it would be around the last weekend of May as we head into the Memorial Day Weekend. Maybe a little sooner. So for now the focus is on early vegetables and strawberries. The official strawberry season can stretch from mid-April to early July with the best picking from May to mid-June.

Ms. Peach is back. So bring the kids and see how much they've grown since last summer.

While Sara's is opening earlier this year, they still have plans this fall to stay open later into the year. They did this last year for Halloween pumpkins and even into the Christmas season. So the official roadside fruit and peach stand of Edgefield is open, it can only mean summer, peaches and The Ridge Peach Festival are not that far away!

Edgefield Has So Much More To Offer

If you've not spent any time in the beautiful city of Edgefield lately, you need to make the drive over! From all the great food from upscale Christine's Farm To Fork to the more casual burgers of the Edgefield Pool Hall or even pizza from Mario's Pizzeria, you are covered when it comes to food.

The downtown square hosts some great shopping and is just a great place to let the kids run and play as well. The Wild Turkey Federation is open. Check out the Carolina Moon Distillery, The Discovery Center, and let's not forget to step back in time to the Edgefield General Store.
